Creating a character for Four Descendant Clans is a different process from what the average Warrior Cat roleplayer may be familiar with. These guidelines are simple, but restrictive.
- Pelt colours must be realistic. Shades of orange, brown, black, grey, white, yellow, and blue are all accepted, provided they aren't saturated and bright.
- ADDENDUM #1 - Tortoiseshell males are rare in real life, and fertile ones are even more rare. Ask staff about having a sterile male tortie. Only one fertile male tortie is allowed in 4DC at a time.
- Pelt patterns must be realistic. This limits the markings to white-spotting; colourpointing; and mackerel, classic, ticked, and spotted tabbies.
- ADDENDUM #1 - Unique markings, such as a heart-shaped spot, are up to staff discretion as they are possible but rare.
- Eye colours must be realistic. Red is not an allowed colour, nor is brown. Yellow, orange, copper, green, blue, and hazel eyes are fair game. These eye colours cannot neon, either.
- ADDENDUM 1# - Colourpoints always have blue or lavender eyes. Colourpoint cats are genetically albino. However, the shade of blue is completely up to the designer! Deep blue, baby blue, grey: its all good.
- ADDENDUM #2 - Although the pelt colour often correlates to the saturation and brightness of the eye colour, this does not apply. Black cats can have bright amber eyes instead of copper. White cats can have dark green eyes instead of lime green.
- ADDENDUM #3 - Fully white cats with blue eyes, if not albino, are usually partially or fully deaf. Please make note of this. If one wishes to have a white furred, blue-eyed cat that is not hard of hearing, please ask staff.
- ADDENDUM #4 - Heterochromia is up to staff discretion. If a cat has heterochromia, one of the eyes must be blue. Partial heterochromia follows this rule as well.
- EXCEPTION - White-spotting and blue eyes. A character must have some degree of white-spotting to have blue eyes, but the white areas do not need to touch or cover the eyes.
- Physical disabilities must be in the realm for a cat to have. Supply a picture of it if unsure if it would be allowed. Some disabilities may be turned down depending on clan.
- Use this namelist if you are in CrystalClan, NightClan, or StormClan. Outsiders and VineClan have no naming restrictions.
- ADDENDUM #1 - NightClan is the only clan out of the three previous clans to let outsiders keep their names.
- ADDENDUM #2 - VineClan will let outsiders keep their names, or let them have a suffix.
- Genotypes must be supplied. A genotype is a set of genes that make up an individual. The reason why this is asked is to make creating kits easier, and for making parents and siblings easier as well. Here is a rundown of all the relevant cat genes to put in your cat's genotype.
